Enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, motor cycling, and boating and kayaking on our beautiful lakes!

This is also a fabulous place to enjoy canoeing and kayaking on Big Lake, Baum Lake, Hat Creek, Fall River, Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park or some of the other fabulous rivers and lakes in the area. InterMountain Adventures specializes in Hobie Kayak rentals. We chose to work with Hobie Kayaks as they are the leaders in peddle powered water craft allowing users to use their largest muscle for propulsion, while utilizing their hands for photography or fishing. InterMountain Adventures also can help you with hiking and biking ideas, as well as other types of recreation. Another provider you can use for kayak and canoe rentals and kayak guide services is Eagle Eye’s Kayak Guide Service.

Whether you like to go-go-go or sit in camp with a good book, you’ll find what you’re looking for while camping at Lassen RV Resort. Our area offers plenty of sights and excursions, from the beautiful McArthur-Burney Falls only 30 minutes away, to the exotic formations at Lava Beds National Monument (about 1.5 hour drive). Nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park, which is about a 1 hour driver to the northwest entrance, has trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding in addition to its geologic wonders. You’ll find lava flows, a wide variety of birds, and Native American artifacts at Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park located about 12.5 miles from Lassen RV Resort – bring your boat or talk to one of the local rental services.

In the nearby town of Fall River Mills, you can stop by the Fort Crook Historical Museum to learn how the Fall River Valley was settled – this is a very well-stocked museum definitely worth a visit! The Fall River Valley Golf and Country Club is one of the loveliest in California, with wildlife, forests, rolling hills, and sweeping views. Just 20 minutes east of our campground is the Ash Creek Wildlife Area, home to many species of birds and other mammals. For hiking and biking opportunities, visit the Great Shasta Rail Trail, an old rail line converted to a maintained trail system. For biking on paved roads, just ride out our entrance and make a right turn – miles of back-country roads – you can ride the routes for the Fall River Century from here if you are up for it!

If you like to fish, this is the place for you! Hat Creek, Pit River, Fall River, Baum Lake, Lake Britton and Eagle Lake — all located near Lassen RV Resort — are renowned for their beauty and amazing fishing! If you want a great experience, contact George at Durand’s Guide Service at 530-941-9757 for guided fishing expeditions in the area. Another fishing guide service that operates in June and July in our area is Confluence Outfitters – they can be reached at 888-481-1650. For driving tour ideas, consider the Volcanic Legacy Byway, which follows roadways from volcano to volcano in Northern California and into Oregon and covers ~500 miles in total. You can break up the Byway in sections to do day trips.

And our own town of McArthur hosts annual events like Airport Days in June and in August the Cutting Horse Show. On Labor Day weekend, enjoy the McArthur Inter-Mountain Fair for a taste of old-fashioned fair activities. And be sure to enter the Fall River Century Bike Ride, held every year on the 3rd weekend in July for a friendly ride on your bike through the beautiful countryside in the Fall River Valley.

Within our camping resort, you can go hiking through our 68 acres, watch for birds and other wildlife, or go swimming in our pool. We have games like horseshoes, volleyball or badminton, and tetherball, plus regular horseshoe games at our three regulation horseshoe pits. The group picnic area is perfect for family reunions, birthday parties, weddings or group events. And of course you’ll enjoy our quiet, peaceful setting when you stay with us at Lassen RV Resort, our campground East of McArthur, California. At night with our dark skies, you can see a plethora of stars and planets and maybe even a few shooting stars!
